This book is the quintessential toxic self help book with the added bonus of over promising and horrendously under delivering. It is the reason why I’ll never buy another self help book. We have these young upstarts who think they know it all. Sad? Depressed? Anxious? It offers a simple solution: just stop thinking. The greatest riddle in overcoming human suffering solved! All the sages and teachers throughout history have all missed this. How does one write a book over a hundred pages long simply rehashing this “theoretical” idea is an amazing feat all its own. This book reminded of another book that I picked up a few years back wherein the author advises readers to, for a few months, keep repeating to themselves the same mantra: “I love myself”, to overcome I can’t recall what. If anything, this book, and all these 5 star reviews, will have benefited me in one regards: saving me money in the future on not spending one more dollar on the self help genre.
