*Edit to original review now that I’ve finished the series… The story overall is a bit weak, the main characters were difficult to sympathize with turning out to be villains (and not very interesting ones at that), and much of the Star Wars lore this storyline dabbles with does conflict with past Star Wars lore. Yet another Star Wars series that requires too many excuses and separate explanations to make it make sense, and that isn’t good storytelling. It’s not completely terrible as many people say it is, but it’s still a failing grade were I to give it a score. *Original review a few episodes in… It has its faults, but overall Star Wars has been worse. This show has many little points that set it firmly in the Star Wars galaxy for me. Watching episodes together helps the viewing as well I will say. Try watching it apart from social media. I won’t disagree entirely with all the hate but it’s really not as bad as people say it is. I have no love for Disney or the current state of Lucasfilm, but The Acolyte has had some decent moments so far.
