The reviews are way to critical. Sure the movie is cheesy and the kids each have a stereotypical moment where they face thier fears but you can't say there was bad acting. the kids were great. I have seen the main kid Jack Gore in other work and he's great. This movie is not trying to be Oscar bait any more than any other McG film so people need to chill a bit. This movie was fun for sure.
