High road to revenge is a sequel that has no right being as good as it is. Its completely stripped away the customization of the former game, both aesthetically and functionally. And completely dumbed down the core gameplay. Destroying the semi-realistic full flight controls, and replacing them with very simplistic, hyper arcade style inputs with button-input aerial maneuvers that were completely left up to the player to preform in the original game. With that being said, High road to revenge somehow comes together to create one of the most entertaining flight combat games ever produced. A fun, campy story. Tons of gameplay elements. exciting and vast areas to explore and varied objectives. Topped with one of the best soundtracks to ever grace a video game. High road to revenge is an instant classic. Theres simply nothing else like it, even to this day. It's absolutely astounding to me, that even in 2019, we still have no followup to this franchise. I know I'm not the only one who wants to see more of this universe.

Front mission 1 is simply one of the greatest games ever made, let alone tactical RPG. The story is compelling, the gameplay is groundbreaking, and it still holds up perfectly today. Graphically the game is striking and beautiful. Character portraits and mechanical designs are some of the best found anywhere. The game pacing is perfect, just long enough to feel like an epic adventure, but short enough to not be a grind. Mission structure varies greatly from stage to stage, and the boss units will keep you on your toes. I think the only flaw this game suffers is its woefully under-powered final boss that can be killed in just a few turns. Other than that, front mission is one of the best games on the SNES, and my personal favorite in the series (followed closely by 3)
