An interesting premise marred by an underwhelming plot and a nonchalant execution. The characters are half baked and the screenplay confused. Sajini’s character is not much delved into. Her fiancée’s character is supposed to be a monster, but not much of it is shown on screen, rather his care for his rogue brother after a chase, ends up unwittingly showing him as just the opposite. Sajini’s father is supposed to be abusive and cruel but only one scene is shown where he scolds his daughter for a bad coffee (which anyone else would do too). Some scenes are unnecessary. It is funny that the computer operator can travel across states, while being involved with a police case while the investigation is ongoing, but he is not caught on time. Some performances are top notch mainly from Kiran Karmarkar, Sumit Vyas and Bhagyashree. Rest everything is very mediocre.

Not a totally bad film, but should have been a lot shorter. Don’t go for it if you don’t like action scenes much, or are not patient enough to watch a 4 hour long movie at a stretch. This film is also replete with misogynistic moments, glorification of toxic masculinity and substance abuse, which is classic Sandeep Vanga Reddy. But, Ranbir Kapoor is very good, perhaps his career best performance after Barfi.

While women are winning medals in the olympics, in Indian television, all they can be, are people who are supposed to be taken a sympathy upon and the fact that such shows are TRP toppers, goes to speak a lot about the society. Anupama is overtly docile, has zero self respect and no confidence. When insulted (almost for 15 minutes out of a 22 minute episode) everyday by different people, all she does is to speak long dialogues, while in practice, she keeps shamelessly putting up with tantrums of the evil people in her family. I mean, do you really need your husband to cheat, for you to start a career? If Anupama’s husband never cheated on her, she would continue being a doormat. Which self respecting woman continues to live with her former husband and his new spouse even after an acrimonious divorce? Which mother puts up with children like Toshu and Pakhi and what is this character of Baa? Who allows an ex, who was disrespectful all her life to be a business partner? Watching a mother get insinuated by her own children is cringy, pathetic and makes my skin crawl.
