It offers more than what the eyes can see. Some critics who gave a bad review for just watching the first 30 minutes isn’t credible I might say. It has more lessons to learn than most movies out there.
Favourite lines:
Rachel Chu: “One day when he marries another lucky girl, who is enough for you, and you’re playing with your grandkids, when the “flower” is blooming, and the birds are chirping, that it was because of me. A poor, raised by a single mother, low class immigrant. Nobody.” (Then got up and leave after letting go of the winning tile which Eleanor took to win the game. Rachel literally let it go for Eleanor to win. It’s a contradiction to what she discussed in her class at the opening of the movie. Which is playing to win versus playing not to lose.) She(Rachel) sacrificed her happiness for him to have a happy and good life, while she (Eleanor) sacrificed her son’s happiness for her to have a happy and good life.
Astrid: “...I realized its not my job to make you feel like a man. I can not make you what you’re not.”
I definitely not wasted my time! I actually watched it 3 times!!!!!
