The setting is enough to give anyone an eerie feeling. The look at the eyes of the islanders and how they threat Bok-nam is quite intriguing. The movie do not have such mind-blowing plot twist but a predictable storyline instead. However, it still was able to deliver the cringe every thriller movie has. The performances are good especially Bok-nam. The back-stories also shed light on the reason of Hye-won selfishness. The movie is very violent coupled with sexual abuse. If you can't take much blood and guts do not watch this because this could be disturbing and depressing for you. In my case, this is my cup of tea 😁😁😁. Though, I'm horrified but I was able to hang on until the end😁. This film is a debut directorial work of Jang Cheol-soo who had been working as assistant director to Kim Ki-duk. And he won many awards because of this. For me I could line this up with most haunting and disturbing yet beautifully executed blood thirst revenge. 19 people found this helpful.
