Don’t be fooled by the somewhat politically fueled hate and/or distaste left in some people’s mouths over the deaths of beloved characters. Just as the first, it’s fundamentally a study of the endless cycle of grief...those who that thought there was going to be a happy ending or a fun romp through the apocalypse haven’t been paying attention. The story lingers upon and explores what loss truly is, how it corrupts and poisons and perpetuates the things that make life worth living, slowly but surely, until ones humanity is stripped away, leaving only a hollow shadow of the person that once was in its place. Sound familiar?
