It had a strong meaning between a parent and his son. To many parents try to live through their children instead of supporting them. It also showed how the love in a home that was of a mixed marriage.

It showed what we adults humans can and need to learn from dogs. As far as unity, race nothing was held against one another. They worked in harmony and got things accomplished. Like the body of Christ is made up of many members. We each have a gift and work together to make one body.
