I'm not movie critic or something but I love and live movies. 8 Vasanthalu is a huge disappointment from director Phanindra Narsetti. I was genuinely not expecting such a poorly made film from someone who gave us Maduram and Manu, which were beautifully crafted and emotionally rich, i have watched his Madhuram short film when I have completed my inter 1st year and just fallen for the characters , cinematography, every bit of it . It’s disappointing to see the director, who once broke norms with Maduram and Manu, has fall back into a predictable, overused template. Recycled emotions, repetitive shots, and philosophical dialogues that feel hollow this time. One of the biggest issues I had with the film is its overuse of poetic, theatrical dialogue. While poetry has its own place, in today’s generation, people don’t walk around quoting metaphors and monologues in everyday conversations. It felt unrealistic and disconnected as if the characters were more interested in being "literary" than human. The Kashi episode, especially the rape and fight scenes, felt totally out of place and added no value to the story. Special mention ( i dont care if director want to show priest or common man or atheist in kashi , i only care that scene is unnecessary at that place . )The second half is especially bad it completely falls apart with illogical storytelling and unnecessary drama. ( parents on hospital bed in critical condition asking their kids to get married to nice or well settled or a guy with big family and that kid cannot express their love life to parent and agree to whatever they say is totally common )The second lead character is so poorly written and the flashback around that character is clichéd, unoriginal, and badly executed. The film follows the same repetitive, overly stylized template we've already seen, but this time without any substance or emotional connection. Overall, the movie is a massive letdown and I seriously regret watching it .
The only plus point is scenes between heroine and first lead in kashmir. The first lead characterization which is connected closely because in real life too people face rejection or breakup with same reason. But I'm really disappointed with director and with movie.
