I watched Joy: The Birth of IVF (2024) last week. 🎬✨ Based on a true story, it’s a powerful story about science, perseverance, and the people who dared to challenge the odds. One line really struck me — when Edward says: “I’m a scientist. I fail every day, but I succeed only once in twenty years.” 💡 That shows the dedication and resilience of scientists who kept going despite criticism. It was especially challenging in the conservative Christian society of the 1960s. They worked nearly a decade to make IVF possible. Patrick reminds us: “Infertility is a disease — and science has the power to cure it.” 🌸 This film beautifully shows how science can turn the dream of having children into reality. It brought back memories of the time I prayed for a baby and my pregnancy journey, making it very emotional for me. 💕 It may not be everyone’s cup of tea (some might find it a little slow), but if you love science or are curious about how IVF began, it’s definitely worth watching. The final few minutes will leave you excited, hopeful, and filled with joy. 🌈 Grateful for science, grateful for miracles. 💕✨

Randomly found this hidden gem The Children’s Train (2024) on Netflix last night. This film is set during WW2 and shows the poverty in Southern Italy at that time. It touched me so deeply with the emotional story of little Amerigo – his heartbreaking bond with his struggling biological mother, and how he builds a loving relationship with his foster mother, and the feeling of betrayal he feels. One line that broke me: “Sometimes those who let you go love you more than those who keep you.” 💔 The storyline and acting were absolutely brilliant. It’s just 1hr 46mins, but the emotions will stay with me for years. If you love deep, emotional drama movies – trust me, watch this one. You won’t regret it. 🌸
