Would give it 0 stars if I could. Just finished watching the movie and I feel frustrated. The storyline was a a miss, the scenes were mildly entertaining.
The only redeeming factor was Dhanush's acting and the general message that violence isn't the solution. Might as well call it Gandhi, instead of Asuran.
Pretty good to show someone who enjoys violence, maybe they will start a non violence movement. As a regular movie watcher, I am both infuriated and beyond bored. I have honestly never been more tired of waiting for a revelation in the movie, an ounce of release from the massive build up in the first half, but unfortunately at no point did the story line provide any joy or relief. The premise had so much potential for being incredible: a meek farmer who goes through insurmountable insults and pain through the murder of his son, but choses to do not one thing due to a long dragged back story of violence. Said farmer then has the rest of his family threatened and conveniently turns into the asur. I'm sorry, what?
I need to punch a wall to let out this frustration. Not feel good or satisfying in the least. Terribly disappointed.
