I'm giving it a 5 based on just one play through which I feel is justified. Although there is obviously different endings to this game (I hope) games should not be graded based on their gameplay. As all the previous, they're based on the story. Although I feel like there was more choices and consequences they could have dug deeper in, following the basic story and becoming engulfed In the world and story was very easy. This is probably the first time I've received a "good" ending in these games and I feel like it was justified. The music is fantastic...the usage of real tracks on top of royalty free / custom songs was a great idea.
All I could ask for was more places to explore. Obviously there are places you could check on another playthrough, but I recon more of the world could have been explored in a singular playthrough.
As a 'musician' or at least someone who claims to understand music...the choices of music was fantastic. The use of popular tracks were used masterfully and helped build a deep understanding of the world. Alex was the most understandable protagonist we've had in these games and I'm excited to see what they do with Max in the next game. .
Let me add, I'm not sure how much this game cost at fill price. I'd happily pay up to £40 maybe a little more for it. It's not a £70 game based on gameplay. But the story would make it worth it. I got it on PS for free based on my subscription, great choice by them.
