The ending of a movie can either make or break a film. This one broke it bad. The cinematography was good and the premise was good, but soo many holes in the story it was almost frustrating to watch. You are purposely misled many times during the film, and that’s okay if it leads up to something, it doesn’t. your basically lied to to make the story more interesting, such as when the mom tears off her skin and turns into a literal monster?? It meant nothing, she’s not a monster, there is no monster.. there was so much lead up to an evil and a great protagonist but it all falls flat on its face when you realize what you spent the whole movie waiting for doesn’t even exist.. the whole mask thing made zero sense, she didn’t need it to begin with she takes it off the next day.
Lastly the whole film just glosses over hugee pieces and acts like your going to just accept it; How’d she know he called his dad? If the whole time she was his nice mother why’d she split his lip? Why’d she destroy his phone after calling his dad? Why’d she break off his door handle with a tire iron? Why didn’t the kid just ask her something only his mom could know?
I think this could have been a great great film if they didn’t become lazy with it & try to deceive the audience the entire time.
2 stars and that’s barely. It’s not sharknado so I can’t give it a 1 star. I wouldn’t watch it unless you have at least 2 ibuprofen to take once it’s over.
