The film's cadence left us with far too many wasted minutes of conversations that simply weren't engaging. I'd anticipated being emotionally and psychologically drawn into Freddie's life and world but that didn't happen. As we left the theater, someone in our viewing party said "A documentary would have been more fulfilling. The only thing that really interested me were the musical moments and they weren't even chosen in a skilled way that would help us connect to the group in any way." I really think the movie would have been better served by a different director and editor.
