I have seen Toy Story 4 with my Dad at the Brew House. I was pretty excited to see this movie. The beginning was great, and hearing Randy Newman sing "You've Got A Friend in Me" was wonderful, but as the story progressed, I became disappointed minute by minute.
First off, Bonnie no longer played with Woody and played with Jessie the Cowgirl instead as well as her other toys, and that's so unfair for the cowboy. Second, Bonnie's dad stepped on Woody's head, which my dad found funny, but I didn't, since I show great respect for that cowboy toy, as I own one since I was little, alongside Buzz Lightyear the Space Ranger. Third, Bo Peep's personality changed from sweet, innocent and cute to a tough, bold and adventurous lost toy who bosses Woody around, and that's NOT the Bo Peep I remember at all. I hate to see a woman boss a man around one little bit! Fourth, I hate how Woody gave up his voice box to Gabby Gabby in exchange for Forky, and when I saw that happen, I screamed "No!!!!", and that was just about the stupidest thing he's ever done! And last of all, the ending itself. Why did Woody and Buzz have to part ways?! WHY??!!! They have been pals since the very beginning in Toy Story 1. Seeing Woody give Jessie his Sheriff's badge was not what I expected to see, as well as him becoming a lost toy with Bo!
I do not like Bo Peep's new look and personality! And I'm not going to say this twice: I HATE to see a woman push a man around, telling him to follow her, let her do the talking, seeing her do things she didn't do in the first two movies, etc. Why should she lead instead of Woody?! All he did was just lag behind, and in the jukebox, she did the talking instead of him, and when he mentioned his kid to Duke Caboom, Bo shut him up! It's disgraceful!
And there's another thing: Woody is not the leader of the toys anymore, and Dolly pushes him around too! If there are two female toys in this movie that I hate, it is Dolly and the new and improved Bo Peep! Bonnie promised to Andy she would take care of Woody after he went off to college, but instead she treats the cowboy like he's nothing! No respectable owner ever leaves their favorite toy in a dark closet. Also, Woody abandoning his kid just so he can stay with Bo at the carnival to help lost toys find owners is sooooo out of character! Woody would never turn his back on his kid. He always says he would always be there for Andy, no matter what the cost. I just want things in the Toy Story universe to go back to the way they used to be: back when Andy was an imaginative 6 year old boy, back when Woody was top toy and Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Bullseye, Rex, Slinky and the other toys were there in his room, back when everything was all "lollipops and roses", I want Woody back with Buzz, put his voice box back in him, pin his badge back on his vest, and make him the Woody I know and love, and I want to do it now!!
If any of you don't like this movie, then I recommend you not to watch it or add it to your movie collection.
