I haven’t watched recently but knew I needed to watch today. I am a Catholic who hates the thought that women feel they have to choose abortion, but the efforts of a mostly male senate, some of whom who have been accused of abuse of women, to deny women freedom to choose what should happen to their own bodies is just wrong . It is wrong based on even based in even my own religions beliefs. It would be akin to denying women the right to be a human creature. Why is it ok that we must legislate what a woman does with her body but not men? it would be allowing the line between Church and state to not be blurred but permanently erased. What a slippery slope you are embarking on. The true sin of abortion is that our society seems to make it so that many women feel they must choose this very difficult path to maintain their integrity and self worth in society, while the men in the equation are allowed to go scot free and anonymous -as if they were not involved at all. They are allowed to continue to scatter their seed wherever they want with no repercussions. What a different world it would be if the male were made Responsible for the safety of the sex they are craving By making a male birth control pill that makes sure they are shooting blanks until such a tIme as these creatures want to take real responsibility to reproduce would fix everything. The issue is not to abort after implantation and preventing pregnant taking place and then the question of is “it a person?” would then be moot. We could even teach classes on responsible sex that elevated those who chose to be responsible in their sexual choices. Wouldn’t that be something? Then our young women will not feel dehumanized but both their momentary lapse in decision making and the names they must endure for their choice while the male goes scot free. To force a woman who has gone through an abortion to carry on is not just cruel but evil. Keep fighting . Canadian women are with you.
