Glad I didn't buy it. "Alone" was very good and the album reviews were very encouraging, but after a few listens on Spotify I can safely say this is as overrated as it gets. There are two standouts here, "Alone" and "Endsong", you can hear Smith really had something to say on these two. "Warsong" and "A Fragile Thing" are OK, while the rest is simply boring. The biggest problem here is the lack of good hooks which were always The Cure's trademark even on such a dark masterpiece as "Disintegration". You can tell Robert had a good idea for the opener and the closer, but unfortunately struggled with the rest. Despite its great reviews, it won't stand the test of time.
