Was fantastic but now it deserves the same fate as x-factor. Let's face it the era of reality TV and talent shows is dead. Simon cowell is rich enough already and his hanging on to the last threads of his falling talent TV business. X-factor died and BGT will for the same reason. Falling viewership numbers are no random occurrence, TV handset sales are declining and less and less people are watching live TV let alone testing their talent at the Apollo in London. Each show is almost like watching a match of WWE. It's all scripted 95% of the show feels like a budget cheaply made sketch The remaining 5% of the show is entertaining purely for how stupid it is. The judges including Simon have egos way too high I can appreciate Alicia Dixon She's the best of the bunch but Amanda is as boring and egocentric as ever the new judge Bruno (replacing David Williams) is just so over the top it's irritating and has no charm like David did and cowell (if you can even look at him thanks to the unsightly plastic surgery that makes him more acquainted to the likes of ET rather than himself) is just the same boring man we've seen for 17 years he's not interesting. And those are just the judges Ant and dec are also along for the ride but they are also long lost celebs of the past, struggling themselves keeping the viewership up on their own. I'm a celebrity get me out of hair program (but I went dwell on that too much) The actual acts themselves are repetitive. We've seen this a million times before. At this point there's only so much you can do before most ideas are oversaturated point in question there is only so many times I can listen to an above average singing voice or even watch a well choreographed performance from a dance group without turning the TV off in boredom, I'm sure Simon will know that there is more to music than just the voice. There's the writing of the songs and the production including the instruments etc. and I'm not blown away by any of these voices as the same I'm not blown away by any other act when X factor died all the budding singers came to Britain's got talent. The final of the show is usually a mess most judges hit the golden buzzer for a sob story that I could come up with myself to win such as "my child has down syndrome" "my mother had cancer and this song is for her and others" I'm just not interested in it. I've come to be entertained and I'm not entertained by a sad story. I'd rather turn the TV off than listen to the harsh reality of the world, which I've heard a million times In summary, the show is so oversaturated that brain dead acts such as viggo venn and his stupid antics ended up winning last year in 2024, The show has devolved into a program for children. Any adult still watching this has nothing else better to do. I'm not going to lie and say I've never watched it because I did and in the early years it was quite good indeed. There was nothing more thrilling than seeing the working class dear Susan Boyle on stage not impressing anyone I'm to everyone's surprise including myself. She had a golden voice and you should never judge a book by its cover. It taught a lesson for everyone but she also had genuine talent. Her voice was not just above average. It was incredible and that's why she was one of the most successful candidates to date. Obviously we have to factor in the TV was more popular then especially that sort of format but that's what I'm saying.BGT should have died years ago. By it remaining on television It is simply destroying its reputation every single year as an even worse TV show than it was the year before. Consider the death of the X factor and a hope for the same to happen BGT, it's inevitable.
