Watched this on a trans-Atlantic flight, really not expecting much and was totally blown away by the quality of the film. Great storyline, well scripted and brilliantly acted by an ensemble cast. There just wasn’t a poor performance or a moment when I wasn’t gripped. Even if only some of this bears a resemblance to the truth, you can’t help admiring this family. Smith’s Oscar was well deserved. It’s just a shame he’ll be remembered for what he did after, rather than this superb film.
