A wonderful wonderful book.
Fantastic research of a horrific story. I listened to this on a library audio and couldn’t stop listening.
To know that these homes were still operating when I was born is devastating.
I spent lots of this in tears, trying to imagine how I would have coped if this happened to me and my babies. I could not imagine!!
I am heartbroken to learn this story. To hear that those women were treated so badly, and because of their so-called sin, their babies were also thought of as sinful by the Catholic Church!!
The church has so much to answer for! I am disgusted!
The book weaved the stories together so well, I really felt I knew the folk involved. The narration was absolutely perfect throughout, and very respectful in the way the full list of the names of the Tuam child victims were read out.
I hope that the families find peace (after all their hard work in getting answers) when the excavation is complete.
