Worth a watch but it is definitely overhyped. It’s a slice-of-life anime disguised as an action/adventure. Stories need stakes; reasons for characters to be doing what they’re doing, giving them reason for natural character development. Though, SLF has none and the main character is there for the fun of it. Stakes don’t need to be as high as death, like in SAO, but there has to be some external or internal force keeping him in SLF. This is why it will never be anything more than a fast paced slice-of-life anime, drenched in fight scenes. Other than that, the animation is decent, the main character’s likable, and the plot is easy-to-follow to the point where you can put it on like background music. This anime is a perfect fit for people just looking for random acts of violence.
