Readable but surely written in 1970 not 2020s. Casual misogyny, “tape recorders”, “answer machines clicking on”. Every woman reduced to hair colour and stereotype. The only way I could finish it was to convince myself it was written in 1975 and had to be read within that context. I was born in 1958 and I haven’t heard women described like this since I was in my 20s. An old manuscript perhaps?
