It’s a self-indulgent movie, overly long and slow. It’s pretentious and without a visible and accessible narrative thread. Pursuing too many story lines around architecture, immigration, diversity, class.

Unusual story: now that I know it’s based on Poe’s work, the long narrations and beautiful poems throughout the series make sense. The acting is compelling. The characters mysterious. And some of the references to current events are spot on. Really good series.

I loved this movie. So much learning, so much humility and yet so much strength in this movie. I also appreciated watching the friendship between Stutz and Hill evolve and deepen. There is something very moving about hearing how to celebrate the imperfection of life. Really worth watching!
