I was so excited to see this movie and I was so disappointed in what I saw. Now don’t get me wrong, the story itself and the overall screenplay were not bad. What did it in for me was the horrible midwestern accent of the main narrator Kathy played by Jodie Comer. She did so well playing this part but I could not get past the accent. This story takes place in Chicago. I do not understand the directors choice to have Kathy sound like she just walked off the set of Fargo. It completely took away from the storyline. Also, has the director ever met anyone from Chicago? No one sounds like that.
I honestly believe the movie would have performed better at the box office simply by having Kathy sound normal.
