It's better to watch it without the expectation that's going to measure up to the original.
Standalone, a decent Friday night cops vs. robbers movie, nothing to write home about.
Weak story, but it's to be expected. This was more for the nostalgia of the fans of the first movie, which by the way was good, but a bit too hyped up too.
Some have compared the original with Heat. Different times. There's a reason why Heat was never meant to have a sequel. Otherwise, you get movies like DOT2, which end up being a more serious version of Ocean's 11.
Gerald Butler just doing his thing. Haters, give him a break. He's 55 bro. Been doing this type of movies for decades now. Not as easy as it seems. Not making excuses for him, but c'mon. Bruce, Sly, Arnold, Pacino, De Niro and so many more have gone the same way. At the end of the day, we keep watching their performances, even the less glamorous like this one, because they deliver a bit of solid entertainment.
Do you think this movie is bad and you are disappointed with him? Try the same movie without him and see what happens.
Jackson delivered too, btw. Solid. Not trying to be fancy, staying on what he knows. That I appreciate.
And the rest of the cast, the setting in Europe. Overseas entertainment gotta eat too.
I just hope no one was stupid enough to go watch it in theaters for some serious entertainment! But, for a night of Netflix, it's fine.
Please, no sequels. Let the story die a decent death.
