How ever bad a film is, if it manages to give you single dose of oxytocin and dopamine it deserves a 5 star rating. And this film will give not just a single dose but several doses along the way. Yes some parts of the movie were cringeworthy, like the ragging scenes, hey ram, hey allah scene and the son ashamed of his widowed mother dating scenes but if gets you high on dopamine, that's ignorable.
Great picture, Ayushmann's finest performance to date. RPS is so gorgeous and so flawless. But Shefali Shah stole the show. How the hell this film didn't work in the box office. It was better than Bhool Bhulaiya 2 or for that matter better than any of Ayushmann's hit films. Maybe the songs were too long and irritating. The songs shouldn't have been there, it just slowed down the pace of the movie. But unlike at the cinemas, you do have the option to fast forward the songs in Netflix.
