I was iffy about this movie because I'd heard rumors that it had homosexual undertones, and so I prescreened it before allowing my young children to watch. I was pleasantly surprised to find no inappropriate innuendos, and instead found Luca to be a touching film, based on the bond between best friends, and the length one goes to make the ones they care about, happy. It was cute and original. My kids loved it.

I mean the acting is pretty good, but I'm feeling like I've already " seen this movie" There is nothing extraordinary or refreshing about it. The time period was far more complicated than this portrays, and it feels " over cooked". However, it is an updated adaption of every other movie and show regarding the time period, focusing on a singular aspect of the era. Its not family friendly or educational even, but it is relatively entertaining, which I guess is the whole point. Go ahead, make some popcorn, curl up, and prepare to be mind numbingly entertained. FYI: there were no actual trains involved during the real"underground railroad movement" I couldn't let that one slide.

This show is great! My husband and I have watched the whole first season twice now. We are excited about season 2. I was bummed to hear rumors that it's been delayed due to covid-19 until possibly 2022. I hope it's just a rumour. I read some of the 1 star reviews and was shaking my head at how many people didn't realize that this show was made for ADULTS. It literally has an MA rating for content, but people still sitting down with their young children and then act surprised when they find mature content. I would describe the show as a near future comedy/drama, and it does have some intense scenes, but again, it has a MA rating for adults. Don't think too hard on it, it's a fun show and we enjoyed it immensely.
