This was a great adaptation of a classic tv show. It had a lot going for it! Zordon’s backstory was a great addition to this movie. Rita’s different take was a pleasant surprise very eerie and yet oddly graceful. As for the Rangers every actor and actress nailed their role. Not one negative thing can be said about their actions and acting. If your looking for a good origin movie this is it. Now to get to the nitpicks there are hardly any but there is some. The reason for watching this movie is, yes you guessed it, Power Rangers! What you don’t see much? Power Ranger....There is a lack of suit in this movie. The truth is there is a lot of miss opportunities to use them! There is a long introduction of the characters and getting their coins. Too long! They did an unnecessary back and forth to where they get their coins and when you see this movie you’ll know what I mean. But it takes up the first half the movie time. Then they have a training sequence and here in my opinion is a miss opportunity for their suits! And there is actual only one very short fight in suit near the end of the movie! To the point where they basically immediately have their visors open in their zords at all time.....😓 Like why couldn’t they do that in the training and been full Power Rangers during the fight! Goldar wasn’t really a hit to me, should have been more like his tv show self but done more realistic also not a fan of Alpha thought his design was ugly and character unappealing but also is Alpha so who cares much about him anyways! But that’s about it on nitpicks. Maybe also if you want to be very picky they didn’t have many scenes of the teens all together bonding a bit. And honestly I could have looked past it if this movie got a sequel unfortunately Hasbro is stupid and wants a reboot! Keep in mind it’s a great Origin Movie! Had a lot of good build up, a sequel would only benefit it! Honestly it really needs one too! There wasn’t much character development more on the fact of character introduction, setting introduction, stakes introduction! If they had gotten a sequel their hands wouldn’t be tied to build up their story and setting in it and we would get more action. The way it was written was intended for more to come was intended to have a sequel! So when this movie ends you will more than likely feel like it needs more. My top 3 characters Trini at number one very relatable as far as personality family life and lone wolf outsider Becky nailed it Rita creepy evil pure eerie feel. Nothing to complain about just a great take on it! Left me wanting more! Billy adorable loved him fit so well! Really wish they threw a cute scene with him an Trini as a threw back to the tv show of them understanding each other. A home run on his character tho very nice. Honorable mention Zordon again very nice version of him his story and character different but interesting. Jason very strong casting wished he got more scenes of him banding the group together!
