This series has been the most moving, compelling, informative, and entertaining that I’ve ever watched. As a teenager, I didn’t know who I was. So I embraced watching others own who they were. Assigned female at birth, I do feel comfortable with that identity. However, the courage and fearlessness embodied in my close friend as he borrowed my prom dresses and water bras made ME envious of him. I became part of a family of very infamous Drag Queens in my town and I was always so proud that I was accepted by them and part of their family. This series has shown me that there are so many facets of identity and celebrating each persons identity is exciting, affirming, loving, and powerful.
I can’t say enough about what these Queens have done to catapult change in these very stuck communities. Watching the unexpected enjoyment in conservative people as well as the progress has been so SO powerful and encouraging.
P.S.
LONG LIVE BOB THE DRAG QUEEN
