The previous reviewer was correct it did have a Jordan Peele kind of vibe to it. The film plus the characters had a great opportunity to excel in this project as the storyline was pretty good and the heart of the topic very sensitive.
However the black children were portrayed as bad, brutal and mental although initially they were seen as the victims. There was no flashback of their childhood and why the main character abandoned them and the end was both lazy and predictable.
Overall a disappointing watch however I should hope the producers will take heed with the feedback, as previously mentioned the film truly had the potential to do well.
