This series suffers from the same issue with most Star Wars tv series.
It feels like they only had a script for an 1-hour tv series but have been spread over the 8 episodes.
The episode "feels" like it needs to waste time to plug the run time gap. eg. walking in the jungle for most of the time, stopping to rest, stopping as it "doesn't feel right", stopping to have a small "chat" - Episode 4)
So far, the entire episode 1 - 4 with tight editing could easily be squeeze in one standard 45min -1 hours run time episode.
