I really like Lupita Nyongo but this is not her best work. Storyline was poor. Somehow getting a pizza for sentimental reasons is more important than saving yourself and your cat from alien monsters who are killing every living thing that makes a sound. The acting was good but there was nothing to work with in this silly script which was full of holes and contradictions right from the beginning. Zero explanation on what these killer creatures are, why they are destroying humanity and how they traveled to planet earth. Completely inconsistent scenes. British law student comes out of nowhere. Literally nowhere - Jumps into the scene from some water or sewage in an alley and chooses to follow a cat that could scream anytime. goes from being paralyzed with fear to a war hero back to having a panic attack back to more heroics. Zero character development. We know Lupita is terminally ill but no clue about her diagnosis and what happened. The same with the other characters. Why is there some radio-communication equipment in the puppet show building ? Why can't they just use their phones on silent for communication? The extreme speed at which those creatures move vs. the very slow human running speed makes no sense on why they can't catch up when the main characters are running away from them for a full minute. Ridiculous. I can't believe I wasted an hour and a half of my night on this movie. 2 stars because the cinematography and photography was high quality. Disappointing.

As a lamborghini fan since childhood, I was very disappointed. This movie was very poor. I gave it a 1 star but only because the acting was decent. The actors had nothing to work with. The scripts were poor, the dialogues were empty. The movie edits were terrible. The sound amd music was terrible and out of sync. We keep going back to the race between Lamborghini and Ferrari by their 2 owners for no reasons. There was no continuity in the edits. We see a 20 something Ferruccio Lamborghini and 10 years later it's a completely different face playing him and he suddenly looks 30 years older in 10 years in the 60s. That was ridiculous. Ferrari on the other hand looks younger in the 1992 race than he was 30 years ago in the 60s. What a mess. This movie is proof that having good actors is not enough. You need a good director who knows what he is doing and has a vision as to where his movie is going. The end of the movie was even worse than the rest of this bad movie, but I was relieved to be put out of my misery. It's a real shame for the actors, they were all let down big time. The discussions around the creation of the Lamborghini car engine were pathetic. I can't imagine Lamborghini now owned by VW can be happy about this chopped up mess of a movie. This was a B movie.

As a French born black man, I will give Chevalier 5 stars just because it is the first movie ever made about Chevalier Joseph Bologne. They concentrated on the music even though he was a decorated soldier, a Knight (Chevalier), and a champion fencer, and the best with all guns and weapons. The movie would have been too long to include his military heroics during and after the french revolution. The actor that played him has a face very similar to the real Chevalier, although Joseph Bologne was a very tall black man. But that's not important. The encounters with Mozart in real life were described as pleasant and Mozart full of admiration for Bologne, but I will concede that two young musical prodigies might have had some rivalry. I don't know. This was more of a hollywood entertainment type of movie with love, and romance, rather than a biography. Perhaps they could have touched on the fact that Joseph Bologne trained Count Alexandre Dumas, who ended up becoming the first black french general and fought alongside Napoleon in Italy and Egypt, and was the father of the famous Alexandre Dumas ( The count of Montecristo, the three musketeers ). I am glad they mentioned that Napoleon reinstated slavery in 1802 which forced Bologne and Dumas out of Paris, and ruined them both as they became french outcasts and lost their properties and wealth, and human rights. Most of Bologne's music, and writings were systematically destroyed. All in all great movie, very entertaining, and at least someone had the courage to make a movie about Bologne, which no one has ever done in France. There is a french movie about Alexandre Dumas but Dumas is played by a white actor (Depardieu) instead of a black / mixed actor.

Fantastic entertainment value. One of the most entertaining movies I have seen in a long time. That was an experience. The Jobu Tupaki character was unpredictable, schizophrenic, twisted, scary. Scarier than the Joker. I would give this movie a 4.5 / 5 or 9/10. Michelle Yeoh's acting was fantastic. The girl playing Jobu Tupaki - Stephanie Hsu was also amazing. This movie was entertaining, fun, uplifting, scary, very sad at times...a roller coaster of emotions. Makes you think about how every action you take, shapes your future. I liked that the movie ratio kept changing for 16:9 to cinematic, to 70's frame. That was a great idea, and made the entire movie very dynamic. The butt plug fight was unnecessary though. It is a dark comedy / fantasy / sci-fi movie but still, there were some very touching moment. I really enjoyed this movie, felt like a 1990's Tim Burton type of movie. One part that did not make sense to me, was Evelyn getting kicked, or hit in one dimension and another Evelyn in another universe feeling the blow. Multiverses are completely independent from each other, so even though she could travel to other universes to get new skills. She should not have been able to affect her own life in another universe. Otherwise dying in on universe, would kill all the other versions of you in the infinite amount of multiverses in existence. Having said that, this was primarily a comedy. The multilingual conversations from English to Mandarin, Cantonese made the movie even better. Great movie, I felt like I was watching a 90's Jackie Chan - Back to the Future - Big trouble in Little China - Tim Burton sci fi movie. The ending was really touching. My eyes were teary towards the end. My only regret is that I did not watch this movie on the Big Screen. I am sure it must have been an experience to remember forever. I could not believe that 2 hours and a half had gone by when I was done with the movie. It felt too short somehow. I could have sat through 3 hours.

Very entertaining, and great concept. Squid game-like. I would watch a second season. I loved the show. However, many great athletes were eliminated, as many of the games were teams vs teams and not one-on-one. It was cringe to hear the line: " the best physique regardless of age, race and gender when 98% of the contenders were Koreans, and the 2 foreigners out of a 100 contestants were 1 black guy and 1 white guy who both live there. They should have said: the best physique full stop. I loved the entertaining value of the show, but it was not fair, as the resting times, were not equal between contenders. The guy who pushed a 100kg boulder uphill non-stop had his arms shot, and couldn't give his best for the rope pulling final event, against a guy who was running and essentially not using his arms and upper body strength. The guy who lifted a heavy rock over his head for 2 hours was never gonna be productive on the same day after that grueling punishment. Should have given them all 24 hours to rest, or all the same tasks. Most of these top athletes had one thing in common; they all believed in themselves and were sure of winning even when the odds were heavily stacked against them...to the point of delusion. That's why they are some of the best in their sports.
