Just finished GoTM. Erikson's first book in the series is wonderful. The reader does not find themselves without action, keeping their attention constantly. Despite the amount of characters, the frequency in which Erikson moves the reader between them makes for a smooth experience with a feel of strong emotions for the entire character set. I have just started now the Deadhouse Gates and I cannot wait for more Malazan. I recommend the Gardens of the Moon to anyone who enjoys Epic Fantasy, or a mix of Fantasy or Science Fiction. This book is for an advanced reader in English.
