In a courtroom reality show, you want to see a person who acts without bias in issuing rulings based on evidence and law. You want someone who focuses on and explains the relevant matters of a case. That's what makes these programs instructive as well as entertaining. Judge Mathis however, doesn't decide cases on the basis of evidence and law. Rather, he makes decisions based on emotion and personal bias, aggravated by an inflated sense of his own importance. This fact is aggravated by his ignorance about many of the matters pertinent to those cases, like thinking the mere presence of termites in a dwelling make it uninhabitable. Watch Judge Judy or Marilyn Milian and you’ll see the difference between a real judge and a false pretender.
