Don't let the endorsement of nostalgia deflect from the intensity of what Wes Anderson's film "Astroid City" is trying to say. He has it all in this flix: Stardom, sets, fashion, nostalgia, and style. It's all about theater; as reflected in his chopping the film into three acts, his three little witches and their caldron (Macbeth), and their ghost-like mother (Hamlet). It's a where's waldo, except you are counting the Shakespearean references. The quality of the performances are unparallel. How can you miss with William Defoe, Tom Hacks and the incompatible Scarlett Johansson, etc al? Pure excapism in all it's glory. We loved it!
