I wasnt expecting much from this movie, but I was pleasantly surprised. Visual effects were amazing, the story and it's concept was well thought out. The characters were likable and the acting was pretty good considering my low expectations. Rating: [For the sci-fi fan] Worth watching, no alcohol required. 👍

The movie was enjoyable if you switched off your brain. It did portray Chinese virtues well. However it was somewhat cliché and cringeworthy. The movie could not decide if it wanted to be actual live action or fantasy. The magical elements dubbed "chi" used by the witch when she transformed was too fantastical with the setting. I also missed the dragon which was replaced by a imaginary phoenix , but it didn't talk...

The visual effects of the movie was pretty good, but certain edits at certain areas made the pacing of the story too fast, disrupting the flow of events that take you out of the movie. Information crucial to the story was not explained properly making the viewer confused. There are things in this movie that do not make sense. The location of the command centre, why are they using small bullets on enemies made of metal, certain choices made by the characters and humans in this story. Rating: Watchable if you turn off your brain.
