Its a film about Barbie, so I went in with an open mind as I had no expectations or perceptions.
"spoilers"
It starts off with an opening parody of 2001 a Space Odyssey, then introduces us to the perfect daily life of a Barbie and Ken doll in a Barbie World.
However not all seems right in this perfect world as shown at the end of the day with both characters of Ryan Goslings portrayal of Ken, who wants only to be with Margot Robbie's Barbie.
This then sets off a series of events that leads them to go into the "real world" of Los Angeles to sort out their issues and trying to get to grips with a completely opposite world of which they came from.
Where Ken embraces the real world and finds a new lease of life to introduce back to all the Ken dolls, Barbie falters as they return to the the Barbie World one after the other.
This then leads to the Barbie World to switch from an idyllic powerful female led place to the complete opposite where Kens are the superior. Thus leading Barbie on a mission to reverse what is happening as she has help from a couple of people who she brought back with her.
Overall I found it quite amusing. It was very well directed, well acted, decent storyline and great for what it was, nothing more than a comedy about a doll who wants to do the right thing by all.
I would say the weakside to it was the last 20 minutes, the plot had essentially finished and what was left didn't really add much in my opinion. Although others might disagree and say the ending was the most important part.
