The Movie 'Adipurush' was more like a fantastical cartoon display and less like the 'Ramayan'. It was a big disappointment for our culture, emotions and our beliefs. More like a wannabe Hollywood movie, with some budget-cut VFX. The Personality of Sri Ram as per Valmiki's Ramayan is a charming, well-built person of a dark complexion (varṇam śyāmam) and long arms. Sri Ram was sat purush and calm. Here Sri Ram is portrayed as having aggressive behaviour. Laxman's character wasn't also justified, Laxman was portrayed as weak and dumb. Lanka was known as SwarnaLanka(which means full of gold) but here it's black and dark like a dark world. Ravan's vahan was known as Pushpak Viman, here it was just a bat carrying Sita mata with him. Then Jatayu came out of nowhere as if he was waiting for Sita Mata to get kidnapped. Vanar Sena was more like the apes from The Planet of the Apes. Silly questions were asked by Laxman, also it wasn't Laxman who asked the questions it was Hanuman instead who tries to test Sri Ram and Laxman. In the original Ramayana Sugreev challenges Bali twice and Lord Ram killed Bali in the second duel. The portrayal of Ravan's son Indrajeet was like a cheap tattoo artist. Also, Hanuman was caught by Indrajeet with the help of Brahmashtra. And the dialogues were so cheap like chapris. Ramayan happened in Treta Yuga. From what I know about Ramayana, I believe, Hanuman did not talk like this, "Kapra tere baap ka, Aag tere baap ka, jalega tere baap ka..." Ravan was shown in some inappropriate scenes like chilling with serpents and doing some blacksmith stuff. The makers should have at least researched the Ramayana, instead of displaying misconceptions. Adipurush was an utter disappointment. This might impact the youth with malformed knowledge about our culture, about our History. Jai Sri Ram🕉️🚩
