Can't really surpassed Chritopher Watts review. I think it's time Ridley Scott put away his clapperboard. He's had a good run with the likes of The Duellists, Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma and Louise etc but his last 2 have been terrible albeit with good CGI and battle scenes and combat. The plot was implausible and script terrible and the actors had a hard time working with it although Denzil stole every scene he was in. Some might say he overreacted. Poor old Derek Jacobi must be desperate for money. Historically someone should have done a bit more research. A definate a 👎

I've always rated Ridley Scott's films but this must be his worst. It rushes from Napoleon as a captain of artillery to becoming Emperor with meeting Josephene and sex scenes thrown in between. Minimal mumbled dialogue from Joaquin. The cinematography was very unclear in the cinema I viewed the film. The battle scenes were spectacular but totally inaccurate especially Waterloo. Did the Waterloo era armies dig trenches, I think not. Did the French attack in line? No in column. The battle was truncated and Napoleon leading a charge? Shame could have been much better. Waste of a talent Joaquin couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag.
