Kinda feels like I’m watching an Ember Island Players version of Avatar. The writing isn’t great: there are too many forced monologues explaining background plot. And they had to do this because they combine 3 episodes into one. They also change a lot of plot and put characters where they don’t belong. On the plus side, the effects are amazing, the costumes and hair and makeup and very well done, and a few side characters do really well with their acting. With main characters like Aang, Katara, and Sokka, I feel like I can see their lines passing by in my head. Katara: where is her fire?? She is so bland! Give her some personality! Don’t make her so helpless and obedient. Sokka: his character is done really well, but there was some weird forced relationship stuff with Suki Aang: he is not fun-loving at all. He is so serious! He isn’t super complex.
