I often remind myself that this game's issues are not the developers' faults. They just clearly never played sports. That said, this game has the potential to be much better. My main issue is that I play competitive, and if you are like me, there are some things about this game that you will really hate. 1. AI is pretty bad. Don't be shocked to see your wingman stop at midfield on a fast break instead of getting into attack position. Also don't be surprised to see characters turn away from the ball or run right past power ups. 2. Character switching logic doesn't place you with the closest > next closest > etc to the ball. Sometimes the system actively resists switching to the player you need. 3. The ridiculous power ups given to the losing team. Up by 5? Good luck hanging on to that while your opponent receives 5 star power-ups in a row. And of course they are gifted more items for ANY goal you score while ahead. This obliterates winning by skill (and the point of a competitive league). 4. The goalies suck and the aim function is basic but at least this is consistent on both sides. The pros? The passing, shooting and dodging functions are fun. This could be such a great game. I pray Nintendo makes tweaks in the DLC. Otherwise this is just a semi-enjoyable game for occasional fun only.
