One of the best sci-fi dramas in the recent decade!
Definetly outshines the Chinese adaptation, which comes across as bland and slow-paced. I simply can't tolerate the poor acting performances and the characters' continual spiral into madness.
The Netflix adaptation takes a different approach by altering the plotline to create a more compelling story. I've noticed that many book fans are unhappy with the series because of the changes it makes, but it's important to remember that storytelling in a film is inherently different from storytelling in a book. To effectively convey a story on screen, certain details from the book often have to be sacrificed. This is why fiction books will always have their unique place, as movies cannot capture the essence of a story in the same way a book can.
