This is an amazing and one of its kind show on Netflix for it presents us the world of chess as a world of loners/geniuses yet shockingly attractive and human-like. It centered around the protagonist, Beth, an orphan with absolute talent for chess, and throughout the whole the plots weaved the time periods of both adult Beth and child Beth together to form the dramatic atmosphere. I very much enjoyed the late 1900s elements presenting through costumes, music, and especially the locations shown throughout the series. The transformation of a lonely, alcoholic Beth to a completely new Beth who had realized the importance of herself and the people who helped along her life journey was not perfect but still smooth and enjoyable. The background music was also a plus+.
