Unfortunately, I saw this movie with unsuitable Persian dubbed and also non synchronized English subtitle. Overall, I find this movie totally paradoxical e.g., the way General or officers treated soldiers, calling each other “coward” or sth like that, or threated by their guns, because most of them were scared to fight; as long as some students joined to fight by crossing the river, while three soldiers wanted to run away by crossing the same river. Then, we saw some of them throw out with explosion belts. Also, since they wanted to escape from face-to-face fighting with enemy and getting popped or killed easily by machineguns and sniper rifles, instead of getting killed by wisely aiming the enemy in warehouse. Then, these running away and retreating, what kind of pride and honor supposed to have for Chinese?! On the other hand, they tried to keep the flab upright, and about twenty soldiers or more killed on it, while at last, they escaped from that warehouse: leaving the flag by its own!!!
Overall, I admire this movie because of all factors that director gathered to explain this historical war which somehow was fallen of the radar. Most people like me had never heard about it. And this movie, nicely tells us about various kinds of people in this war, those who just were spectators, those who were just coward although they were physically in health, those who were civilian, but tried to participate and giving hand by shooting them or medic aids kit, and those who just were gambling, making money from this war in various ways even by selling newspapers and making reports by balloons.
