The series is not worth reading IMO. I read all three cause I had a weekend and I liked Enders series back in the day. SPOILERS All the teenage girls have no character depth other than wanting the protagonist to sleep with them or have his babies. The coolest of the bunch being better because she actually loves him so she wants to sleep with him and have his babies. So not a great message for anyone. Also protagonist is raped by a girl(possessed by Satan, so you could say she is getting raped too). Satan gets into him when he orgasms….. yeah it’s weird. It’s sort of vague writing so the sexual parts don’t feel like porn. But the sexual content is out of line and says some weird things about the writer in my opinion. Girl then gets pregnant and is barely mentioned ever again and he is like I’m gonna use my super powers to spy on the kid and keep them safe but nothing else… Protagonist grows a lot but is a real jerk at the beginning. Which I know is kind of the point trying to represent the way teenagers think they are slick or funny when it’s really just rude, vulgar and obnoxious. But its disturbing. I kept waiting for something to happen in the books like really this is almost the end. And then it would end. Villain is defeated with minimal effort. Tries to have some good messages built in. Like the importance of using persuasion over compulsion or manipulation. World idea was cool. The story weirdly obsessed with teenage sexuality with too many awful moments. The villain barely significant. The more I think about it the more awful this series feels. Would not recommend to anyone.

So good. With slight nudges and clues that are at the same time subtle and dramatic suddenly shifting what you thought you knew then confirming your new suspicions. With lots of characters to introduce through short scenes the beginning might feel…. I don’t want to say tedious because that is too strong… but not as engaging it gets. But it gets good.
