BEST ADAPTATION OF A LOVECRAFT STORY EVER. BRAVO. High quality, good editing, quality acting and stays very true to the feel of the classic and quintessential cosmic horror story.
I was VERY pleased. I have been disappointed more than a little with evry other attempt at bringing Lovecraft to the big screen (though I understand his writing style is difficult to conjure visually. On purpose.)
Some a$$hat writer/ reviewer said it was "It’s not as effective as Mandy or The Mist, both of which it evokes at points. But Color Out Of Space is still an audacious and admirably out-there attempt at cosmic horror."
Um....excuse me? Lovecraft is the godfather of cosmic horror, its not exactly easy to bring writing that constantly dances around a subject, superfluously allowing the reader bits and pieces of how to conjur up an image in their minds eye, to liife in a movie. And Mandy was not NEARLY the same type of horror as Lovecraft, though I enjoyed it as well. pu-lease.
