So, with no idea about the tone or tenor of Jo’s latest book I started the read. It fascinated me but in an odd way. If Jo intended to confuse but fascinate, that worked. But without giving away the storyline, the first third of the novel is written in a child like style that appears amateurish. The second third in a style that appeared unbelievable and the finale expectedly bringing the storyline together. Nothing like his usual write and not really to my taste. Couldn’t put it down but more through curiosity than enjoyment.
