You can tell how terrible this movie is by the delusional reviews alone. Anyone who explains the true history behind this movie is considered "racist" lol. I saw one review that said "at the end of the day it IS based on true events and just like the TITANIC, at the end of the day it remains a movie for entertainment" however, The Woman King is like if they made Titanic with a good ending where the ship never hit the iceberg and sunk. I'm just amazed that out all the African polities they could make a historical movie to show a fight against conquerors, they chose the brutal slave trading empire.

Typical "despite" movie, they try to show racial issues by using racist stereotypes. The only thing holding this movie up is the cast, other than that the jokes are terrible, the characters have no chemistry, and the overall message is "overcoming difficulties in the name of love" which other stories have done way better not even needing the use of skin color to display the differences. I honestly don't know who this movie is for its listed as a "Romantic Comedy" but there is nothing romantic or funny about this movie.
