A refreshing antidote to (the also brilliant) Walking Dead. To my mind a realistic take on the inhumanity of humanity if ever faced with an apocalyptic event. The real strength though lays in the storytelling - particularly series two when the masterful reveal of the narrative is entirely out of chronological order. The way we see many characters end stories before we see who they are in back and side story is a skilful and playful subversion of the standard beginning, middle, and end structure made possible due to light characterisation and avoidance of unnecessary dialogue. Totally worth it.
